Representatives of the Episcopal Church attended DrupalCon Chicago to learn about Drupal and whether the open source CMS was capable of replacing their current RedDot website. Convinced that Drupal was the platform for them, the Episcopal Church hired Duo to theme and build their Drupal site using existing designs.
Our engagement with the Episcopal Church began at DrupalCon Chicago over a conversation about site requirements. When vetting potential vendors for the project, the Episcopal Church was focused on making sure the design team could accomplish their specific goals within their specific timeframe.
One challenge that surfaced in development was the fact that content needed to be migrated from multiple locations. Our skilled developers mapped content from the library site and main site to create one unified experience in the new iteration.
Our Drupal themers went above and beyond using the provided site designs. Drawing on the long history of The Episcopal Church they created a beautiful and functional stained glass layout with a hover state for the site’s main page.
They wanted a site that could service internal and external stakeholders, where non-members could gain perspective, and church members could find the information they needed on missions, feasts, fasts, sermons and doctrine. To do this, we focused on enhanced site functionality.
We implemented new search features that allowed visitors to find churches based on state, diocese and parish. Search results even include a map function showing the viewers distance from the nearest parish location.
