What Exactly is Drupal?
Drupal is a free, open-source web content management system written in the PHP programming language. However, the simplicity and sophistication of Drupal allows system administrators to customize the content and display of their websites without any programming knowledge or skill. If you do have a background in programming, Drupal’s modular theming system allows custom-written themes to be added without disturbing the core CMS system.
Drupal’s wealth of available modules add functionality to the system, and while many are built and maintained by the core Drupal developers, other are contributed by the larger, interactive Drupal user community.
Duo’s team utilizes Drupal to build flourishing websites and content management systems that can handle high volumes of data efficiently. We integrate these capabilities and user-friendly features with other applications and web services to build our clients unique, custom solutions using “best fit” technologies.

How Does Duo Give Back?
Part of the ethos of the open-source community, and the Drupal community in particular, is to contribute back to the community as you can. Duo does that in several ways:
- Duo regularly hosts the local Drupal meetup group, CDMUG (complete with pizza).
- Duo is an organization member of the Drupal Association.
- Duo sponsored DrupalCamp Chicago 2011. We also had several people speaking!
- Duo is sponsoring DrupalCon in Denver in 2012.
- Duo sponsored DrupalCon in Chicago in 2011.
