Vedder, Price, Kaufman & Kammholz is a business-oriented law firm with 210 attorneys and offices in Chicago, New York and New Jersey.  The firm has three main areas of service: Corporate Finance & Transactions, Labor & Employment, and Commercial Litigation.

Problem

Vedder needed to establish an online presence that would accurately represent the professionalism and spirit of the firm, attract new clients, and serve as an information resource for constituents.

Knowing that they needed more than just a Web site, Vedder engaged Duo to build a dynamic information resource that truly met all of their needs.  By working in close partnership with Vedder, Duo was able to translate their business goals and processes into a customized technology solution that reinforced their brand and enabled them to communicate more efficiently with stakeholders.

Solutions

  • Relational Database: Duo created a central repository for company materials and news items, which allowed relationships to be assigned between them based on location, practice area, or date.
  • Usability Analysis: Duo worked with Vedder to understand the structure of the firm, industries served and practice groups so that information could be presented in an intuitive, accessible manner.
  • Content Management Solution: Duo designed an administrative interface that allows documents to be added and related to other items with a few clicks of the mouse, allowing updates to be made internally with minimal effort and training.
  • Automated eNewsletter Capability: Duo created a newsletter tool that allows Vedder to send targeted email updates to clients based on their areas of interest. Existing content from the database is compiled and sent automatically, enabling Vedder to supply their stakesholders with timely information on a regular basis.
  • Search Engine Optimization: The site was built so that it, and much of the information it contains, could be found by Search Engines. The embedded keywords and tags can be updated as well to keep Vedder at the top of the results pages in the future.
