Successories is a leading provider of motivational media, specializing in products designed to promote important organizational values and encourage excellence in every professional endeavor. Merchandise is sold directly to customers through the Successories website (www.successories.com) and catalog.
Problem
The Successories website was difficult to navigate and did not display their 4000+ products in a way that mirrored how customers actually shopped for them. There was also no connection between the website and internal ERP system, requiring the manual entry of web-based orders and product updates.
Solutions
- AS400 Integration: The website was integrated with the ERP system, which was housed on an AS400, allowing information to flow in both directions. Web-based orders are now automatically entered into the ERP system, and inventory and catalog information are automatically transmitted to the web site.
- Usability Analysis: Duo worked with Successories to understand their range of products and customization options in order to simplify the shopping experience for customers. Site audits and traffic analysis also provided insight into how customers actually searched for products.
- Information Architecture: The findings from the usability analysis led Duo to re-organize the site structure to mirror how clients actually searched for products: by category, theme, and price
- Product Configuration Functionality: Since Successories’ products can be customized, Duo created an application that allows visitors to personalize and preview their products prior to placing an order.
- Content Management System: Because Successories had a variety of needs regarding content management, Duo created a system that accommodates automatic updates from the ERP system relating to product availability and manual updates from the site administrator about new promotions and offers.
