2013 Chicago DrupalCamp is Here
It’s DrupalCamp time in Chicago. And that means over 100 Drupal developers from the Midwest will converge on UBS Tower Convention Center in Chicago this Saturday, December 7th for the sixth annual 2013 DrupalCamp Chicago. While targeted at the tech crowd, the event also includes a business track to bridge the gap between technology and business strategy.
It’s Everywhere. It’s Everywhere.
The Drupal website notes that there are over 1 million people in 229 countries speaking 181 languages that power Drupal. Regularly scheduled local training events like DrupalCamp Chicago are occurring throughout the world. With this momentum and its army of skilled developers it is no surprise that Drupal is emerging as the web development platform of choice for businesses, governments and non-profits.
For Everyone. For Everyone.
The 2013 DrupalCamp Chicago, organized by the Chicago Drupal Meetup Group (CDMUG), is structured to attract Drupal novices as well as advanced developers, site themers and designers. It is also an effective networking event serving to satisfy the needs of businesses to attract talented developers. The modest $30 registration fee is intended to minimize any barrier to attendance.
We’re a Community.
In true community spirit, volunteers eager to share their experience and grow the collective Drupal knowledge provide the training at DrupalCamp. Sessions are submitted in the categories of coding, building, designing, business and community.
Duo team members are among those volunteers presenting at DrupalCamp. Interaction Designer Ryan Beach will be providing an introduction to David Desandro’s Isotope jQuery Plugin. And Interaction Designer Brian Krall will will walk attendees through successfully building and maintaining a front-end style guide in code so developers can have an inventory of reusable components and repeatable patterns for their site.
In addition to scheduled sessions, attendees propose impromptu “birds of a feather” sessions to address highly focused interest niches.
