Michael Silverman, founder and chief executive officer of Duo Consulting, has over 25 years experience as an entrepreneur, executive, and innovator.

Working through Duo’s design and development teams, Michael facilitates websites that fulfill his vision: easy to find and navigate, benefitting end-users as well as the organizations behind them. They fulfill an essential purpose: bringing people the information they need in the best way possible, a need which he feels will only continue to grow.  He believes Duo’s current success stems from this focus, a talented group of developers and designers, and a strong existing client base.

Michael first conceived Duo (then Duo Design) to help create new Internet-based businesses, acting as an incubator to budding online companies. When the business environment changed in early 2000, Michael transformed the company from an early stage investor in online ventures into the professional consultancy it remains today. In 2004, Michael recognized that the company’s best clients had large amounts of changing content.  In response, he directed Duo’s efforts towards the emerging field of web content management.

Michael began his career in 1982 when he founded PinDot Products, a manufacturer of goods for people with disabilities. An early and enthusiastic adaptor of new technologies, Michael championed computer aided design and manufacturing in the development of the company's products. Over the next decade, PinDot secured multiple patents and won numerous awards for its unique products and processes. In 1995, he sold PinDot to Invacare Corporation, the leading international manufacturer of medical equipment. Michael stayed with Invacare until 1997, when he created his first Internet business. In 1999, he founded what would become Duo Consulting.

Michael has an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and a BA in Physiology from Southern Illinois University. His family, and most recently a golden doodle comprise his life outside of Duo: in his spare time, he enjoys shooting off model rockets with his two young sons, and taking road trips when the opportunity arises.
